They also have had two ingatherings of food for Maranatha ministries in Chambersburg, PA, and are at the present time preparing to gather personal items for Women in Need in Franklin County.

Yearly they gather together material aid for Lutheran World Relief, this year sending 135 bars of soap.

The Committee also oversees a companion congregation in the Konde Diocese of Tanzania, Africa. Our companion is Mbigili Lutheran Church in Tukuyu. Their Pastor is Jim Mwangomile.

This committee also oversees ths support of our missionary to Tanzania, Nancy Stevenson, as well as Franklin County Prison Ministry, and Jeff & Glenda Haarer of TransWorld Radio

Parish Nurse

Salem congregation has a Parish Nurse, Helen, a retired RN. Helen keeps tabs on the health concerns of the congregation. She visits the homebound members as well as members who are ill and makes certain that they are being adequateloy cared for. She is an invaluable member of our ministry and we thank God for her.

Salem Piecemakers

The Salem Piecemakers are a group of women that are gathering on scheduled Monday evenings.  They have each made a log cabin quilt which they then donated to the local Women In Need.  They made door decorations in February for the shut-ins of the Church and will delivery them before Easter.  Their next project will start in March and they will learn to make dishrags for the Ladies Day Out event that the Church has.  They do different projects and welcome anyone who would like to come and join in the fellowship, fun and learning experience.

Busy Bees

The Busy Bees are a group of women who gather every Tuesday morning at 9:30am to make piecequilts for local needs as well as for world relief efforts. They enjoy the work along with the fellowship.

We believe in the grace of God in Christ Jesus who died for our sins on the cross, rose again that we might have eternal life and that Christ will come again.
