The Community Ash Wednesday service will be held at Salem on Wednesday, February 14, at 7:00 PM with Pastor Dave Riley preaching.
We will be joining Evangelical Lutheran Church for our mid-week Lenten services. The dates and places of each service will be announced in the bulletin and here on SalemMarion.org.
We are collecting items for the “Power Pack” program at Marion Elementary School. The program provides meals for children at risk for hunger so they have a little to eat on the weekends. A list of needed items is at the back of the sanctuary. There are 29 at-risk children this year.
Any Thrivent Financial member who may have 2017 Choice Dollars to designate must do so by March 31st in order to keep it local. If you do not receive a call from Marlin Maclay’s assistant on the number of Choice Dollars you have or have questions about how to designate them, contact the Thrivent office at 717-264-3324.
There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for refreshments for the 4th Sunday Fellowship. Please sign up to host a month.
Our annual council dinner will be on Saturday, February 17 at 6:00 PM at Hickory Ridge Diner on Philadelphia Avenue. A sign-up sheet is available on the bulletin board.
Salem needs two people to attend Synod Assembly at Messiah College in Grantham from May 31 through June 2. Contact the office if you are interested in representing Salem as a voting member.
We are looking for monetary contributions to help pay the cost of packing meals for world hunger. If you can contribute, please mark “meal packing” on your offering envelope under “other”. The meal packing event will be on Saturday, June 2nd at Messiah College. Contributions should be in by February 28th.
