Midweek Lenten Services with Evangelical Lutheran Church continue on Wednesday, February 28, at ELC with a soup/sandwich fellowship at 6:15 PM and the service at 7:00 PM. The theme for the season is The Disciplines of Lent, and this week’s focus is on Prayer.
We need a committee, person, or persons to prepare and serve the midweek Lenten meal on Wednesday, March 21, at 6:15 PM. If you can do this, please contact the office.
The Audit Committee will be meeting and doing the annual church audit on Tuesday, February 27. Please turn in any pertinent paperwork to the church office.
Anyone wishing to donate to the costs of repair of the organ may do so by putting a contribution in their envelope under “other” and marking it “organ repair”.
We will be purging the prayer list on Monday, March 5. If you wish someone to remain in our prayers, please put a note in Sandy’s box or call the office.
We are collecting items for the “Power Pack” program at Marion Elementary School. The program provides meals for children at risk for hunger so they have a little to eat on the weekends. A list of needed items is at the back of the sanctuary. There are 29 at-risk children this year.
Any Thrivent Financial member who may have 2017 Choice Dollars to designate must do so by March 31st in order to keep it local. If you do not receive a call from Marlin Maclay’s assistant on the number of Choice Dollars you have or have questions about how to designate them, contact the Thrivent office at 717-264-3324.
There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for refreshments for the 4th Sunday Fellowship. Please sign up to host a month.
Salem needs two people to attend Synod Assembly at Messiah College in Grantham from May 31 through June 2. Contact the office if you are interested in representing Salem as a voting member.
We are looking for monetary contributions to help pay the cost of packing meals for world hunger. If you can contribute, please mark “meal packing” on your offering envelope under “other”. The meal packing event will be on Saturday, June 2nd at Messiah College. Contributions should be in by February 28th.
